New: Meeting minutes
- We decided that we will take notes at every meeting
- Antonia is working on a school-wide accessibility website, and notes could be published there eventually
- Note taking will be rotated every meeting
DSAB Student Symposium on April 13 (Leonard)
- It’s going well… Still deciding on timing and presentations
- Please reach out to committee for help
Commencement (Heather)
- Several students have already requested various accommodations
- Some faculty members as well
- Outreach soon to find dedicated volunteers that will work with this group of attendees
Accommodations policy for online teaching (Chris)
- There has been some debate over what exactly would be accommodations granted in online courses?
- Recommendations from OCR… but people with knowledge of online teaching and learning should create the rules
- We discussed current online education requirements and accommodations
- Maybe there could be general guidelines, and then decisions are made on a program or course basis?
- We need to post more guidance on this for students and faculty somewhere (on website?)
- Christopher will work with Brian Peterson on policy
Website Accessibility Review (Rachel)
- We passed the review successfully!
Blackboard Ally (Antonia)
- Too expensive for CUNY
- Antonia will check if we could get the tool just for CUNY SPS?
CUNY SPS Accessibility Policies (all)
- We discussed the current draft of our document.
- Rachel and Christopher volunteered to work on the draft before next meeting, and send around for review.
